Our story

A captain’s house, kept deliberately small.

Carved into the caldera cliffs of Oia in 1962, Villa Thalassa began as a captain's summer house and grew, room by whitewashed room, into one of the Aegean's quietest luxuries. We keep things deliberately small — thirty-four rooms, two tables, one unhurried rhythm — so that every stay feels less like a booking and more like a homecoming.

A cliff-edge seafood grill where the day's catch is chosen at dawn from the Ammoudi boats and cooked over volcanic stone as the sun goes down. Signature: whole sea bream baked in an aegean salt crust, finished with lemon leaves.
